In-Person Workshops
Back to Basics
Always wanted to draw? Start here.
In-Person 2-Day Drawing Workshop
This small-group, in-person workshop is designed for beginners, returning artists, and anyone who wants to build stronger drawing skills to support watercolor, painting, and future creative projects.
Over two days, we’ll slow down and practice the basic drawing skills artists use again and again — line, shape, proportion, measuring, light and shadow, shading, and drawing from everyday objects.
This workshop is based on the same foundational skills taught in my 6-week Basic Drawing class, but offered in a focused, hands-on format. You’ll learn through clear demonstrations, guided practice, simple warm-up exercises, and personal feedback as you work.
The goal is to help you understand how to begin, how to look more carefully, and how to use simple drawing tools to make what you see feel more manageable.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a stronger drawing foundation and more confidence to keep going — whether you want to continue drawing, paint in watercolor, work in acrylic or oil, or simply feel more confident making art.
Watercolor Paint-Along Workshop
Gather your friends, pick up a brush, and let’s paint!
Watercolor Paint-Along workshops are a wonderful way to explore painting, enjoy the process, and experience the beautiful—and sometimes unpredictable—nature of watercolor.
Each paint-along is centered around an approachable project, with clear demonstrations and step-by-step support as you create your own finished painting. Along the way, you’ll explore color mixing, brushwork, layering, washes, soft edges, value, and how to let watercolor move while still guiding the painting.
These workshops are designed with beginners in mind, with plenty of encouragement, clear guidance, and room to enjoy the process. You do not need drawing or painting experience to join in.
Watercolor Paint-Along workshops can be scheduled through art centers, community groups, organizations, or as a private gathering with friends. Projects can be selected to fit the season, occasion, or interests of your group.
Whether you’re brand new to watercolor, returning after time away, or simply looking for a creative experience to share, these paint-alongs are a lovely way to build confidence, connect with others, and enjoy making art together.
