Portrait Studio

After moving through Basic Drawing, Still Life Drawing, and Portrait Drawing I, students are invited into Portrait Studio. This is where you begin working more independently, applying what you’ve learned while exploring new approaches and techniques. 

Using your own reference images, you’ll continue developing your portraits with guidance, personal feedback, and support as you need it. 

In Portrait Studio, you’ll: 

• Choose the people and reference images you want to draw 

• Work at your own pace while receiving guidance and personal feedback 

• Explore new techniques and approaches to portrait drawing 

• Make more of your own artistic decisions and develop a process that feels like yours 

Over time, your confidence grows, your process becomes your own, and your portraits begin to reflect not only what you see—but what you want to say.
