Still Life Drawing

You’ve learned the basics. Now let’s bring them together.

Still Life Drawing takes the basic skills you’ve learned in Basic Drawing and begin using them like an artist.

Together, we’ll build on confident lines, measuring, proportion, light, and shadow—and bring those skills together in a finished still life drawing. You’ll use thumbnails and quick gesture drawings to explore ideas, arrange objects, check relationships, and create a strong composition with depth, texture, and atmosphere.

You’ll learn how to choose objects that interest you and use lighting to bring them to life. This class is about more than drawing things on a table—it’s where you begin trusting your eye and making your own decisions as an artist.

By the end of class, you’ll create a finished still life drawing using personal objects that feel meaningful, interesting, or simply fun to draw.

This is a supportive next step for students who want to keep growing and move beyond individual exercises into drawings that feel thoughtful, expressive, and alive.

Students currently enrolled in Basic Drawing will receive information about moving into the next Still Life Drawing class.
