Still Life Drawing

You’ve learned the basics. Now let’s bring them together.

Move beyond basic drawing exercises and learn how to create more complete, finished drawings from everyday objects.

Still Life Drawing is a wonderful next step for students who have taken Basic Drawing, or for anyone with some drawing experience who wants to strengthen observation, proportion, composition, and shading.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Slow down, look carefully, and turn a simple setup into a confident drawing

  • Choose and arrange everyday objects into a still life you’re excited to draw

  • Hone your drawing skills and improve accuracy through guided practice and encouraging feedback

  • Use light and shadow to create realistic form, depth, and volume—and a drawing that may surprise you

By the end of class, you’ll choose and arrange your own objects and bring everything you’ve learned together in a finished still life drawing.

This is where you move beyond individual exercises, begin trusting your eye, and create drawings that feel thoughtful, expressive, and alive.

Students currently enrolled in Basic Drawing will receive information about moving into the next Still Life Drawing class.
